My uncle was a navigator on a B-17. The family didn't know much about that time of his life except that he was killed over France on April 28, 1944. Recently, I have had the privilege of connecting with two members of his original crew on the "Chug-A-Lug Lulu". I have learned a lot about his time in WWII, as well as the members of the 381st bomb group.Last year, we were able to reunite those two crew members under the wing of a B-17. They hadn't seen each other in 67 years since they bailed out of their plane over Belgium. With the assistance of members of the 381st bomb group (and their children), historians in England, France and Sweden, and these two wonderful men, I saw no other option than to tell their stories in a documentary film.
